job summary
the position requires both electronic design skills as well as technical expertise in EMI, EMC, ESD, wireless regulatory compliance. your role will be an integral part in the hardware development team, ensuring that all product designs live up to our standards of great battery life, audio quality, wireless performance and that we conform with worldwide regulatory requirements.
you will have involvement in all aspects of the hardware life cycle i.e. requirements definition, component selection, implementation, integration and testing. you will work closely with our manufacturing engineering team, assisting in designing and providing automated test equipment for our production lines. this includes working on our in-house developed factory-test platform, adding next-gen features like robotics and vision.
we encourage developing your skills and interests by participating in product and platform development, including board design, embedded programming and board bringup.
key responsibilities
- drive a standardized and harmonized approach to regulatory compliance across TE’s suite of products.
- working with the engineering team, including the product/program managers, actively educate on regulatory requirements for new and existing products, help guide compliant design development and verify compliance through testing, debug and validation activities.
- determine and interpret the relevant regulatory standards for TE products.
- establish and maintain guidelines and best design practices to mitigate compliance issues early in the design phase.
- participate in mechanical and electrical design reviews to ensure EMC/EMI and WLAN mitigations are properly implemented in the design.
- work with 3rd party labs to test and validate TE’s products and support testing from a hardware and software perspective.
