we are now seeking a sourcing specialist to support our growing supply chain team.

who are you? 

you have a solid understanding of electronic components, as well as the ability to prioritise quality, cost and lead time, for differing situations. you are a pro at keeping a cool head while handling complex flows of components and materials, with excellent problem-solving and strong analytical skills to quickly land on optimal solutions.

role and responsibilities

as a sourcing specialist, you are responsible for creating component procurement strategies and forecasts for prototypes and mass production. you successfully negotiate pricing with suppliers and distributors and fulfill purchasing needs by issuing purchase orders or approving factory material orders. you are engaged in tight communication with key component manufacturers in order to stay on top of industry trends and developments and are responsible for managing component stock at EMS and third party warehouses including the annual stock taking.

other common tasks in the role include:

• support role in finding replacements or alternative solutions for EOL components 
• responsible for keeping EE PLM records up-to-date
• responsible for supplier product compliance and collecting documentation
• supporting the finance department in settling of accounts. 

 required skills and experience

• several years experience in an electronics sourcing/purchasing role, with relevant education or skills within the procurement field.
• experience in vendor selection, negotiation and building strong relationships with key suppliers.
• an understanding of how the flow of goods relate to earnings and balance sheets
• experience in cost management and cost saving initiatives.
