we are expanding our team and are now looking for a senior backend developer. in joining the development team at teenage engineering, you will be part of the foundation that keeps every one of our systems running - from product development and design, through manufacturing and logistics, all the way to marketing and the customer journey. 

as a senior backend developer you will have a deep devops focus, and help build, maintain and evolve the infrastructure that powers our business, ensuring that every workflow, every number and every service behaves exactly as it should. you are a person who cares deeply about correctness, reliability and naturally thinks in systems.

main responsibilities & tasks

• maintain, improve and evolve our production systems and infrastructure.
• ensure high reliability, observability, tooling and automation across environments.
• diagnose and resolve operational issues affecting services, data flows and deployment pipelines.
• collaborate closely with developers, designers and cross-functional teams to ensure smooth deployments and consistent environments.
• continuously refine processes to ensure correctness, reproducibility and stability.
• contribute to long-term infrastructure planning.

qualifications

requirements

• deep experience with AWS
• infrastructure as code (AWS CDK, ansible or similar)
• strong familiarity with linux or macOS
• experience with postgresql
• python
• solid understanding of the networking stack
• fluent working ability in emacs or vim
• completely at home in the terminal
• strong understanding of distributed systems, automation and modern devops practices
• ability to reason scientifically: you test, verify and measure
• 5+ years of experience working with similar environments

plus

• at least one additional programming language (typescript, golang, ruby or C)
• ability to jump into unfamiliar languages and learn on the fly
• swedish language skills
